In Indian Market General Motor will Launch Small Cars under Rs 2 Lakh

General Motors has now interest in Indian car market. GM is planning to develop a small car for Indian market which will be the cheapest, at a possible price of under Rs 2 lakh.

Nick Reilly who is the GM Group V-P said,
"I would say we are studying that... and (we) do think there is an opportunity for something below the current mini car offering Spark."
The statement was published in ET online news paper. This statement is showing that the company is looking to develop a car for India that would be positioned below the ‘Spark' mini car. Nick Reilly declared that the car would not be just like – Tata Nano. It would be something different.

Still there is no independent confirmation about it. While it is believed that GM is targeting a similar price tag below Rs 2lak for price tag below Rs 2 lakh for Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa and even possibly China along with India.

Official announcement said that India would be the leader for the R&D for this car. About this Karl Slym who is the President of GM's Indian subsidiary confirmed,
“It (Spark) is currently the cheapest car for us globally.”

Now, General Motors works its way out of bankruptcy in the US so, India and China would be key to its revival. It is being said that the small car would be the key to growth in the future.

Reilly expecting that India can be a "very important source" for small car demand. They are getting ideas from popularity of Tata Nano. They have planned to produce India-made small cars to increase competition on the price front.

Reilly added some words with that news,
"We have seen some decline (in sales) in the Indian market in the last few months, and obviously the market is weak. But mainly, I think, it was because of customers' response due to the widespread coverage on what was happening in the US."

Now, it is obvious that India would be the best market for small cars industry. Price is the main factors for Indian car industry. If the GM launches the small car by India then it would be a major competitor for TATA NANO.

Maruti has decided to launch Ritz and not phasing out of 800 and Omni

In the recent story I V Rao who is the Maruti Suzuki’s Managing Executive Officer, said to the Hindustan Times report, “Ritz will directly compete with Swift. In the past, when we have launched cars in the same segment, it has helped the market to grow. With the launch of Ritz, our customers would have two cars to choose from in the same category.”

Maruti has estimated that it’s Ritz and Swift product would compete with Fabia, Getz, UVA and i20. In compact car segment Sift has already 75% marketshare.

Swift is one of the most successful product of Maruti which sales is about 10,000 Swifts a month. On this theory, other car company has also decided to enter in compact car segment.

On the other hand, I V Rao told to HT report, “We have not yet taken a call on phasing out 800 and Omni. The decision to phase out the models or not will be taken by our marketing division. Our marketing team has asked us to upgrade the 800 and Omni to meet he 2010 emission norms. We are going ahead with it.”

According to Maruti, it will work on up gradation of 800 and Omni rather than phase out these. The both product will be phase out till 2015.

In the car industry there are already big competitions after TATA Nano. TATA already had launched its NANO and booking of the car has gotten successful response.

In the mid of global economic crisis, car industries need to upgrade its quality and product also along with price lowering. In the car industry there are already many two-wheeler company has entered to launch lowest price car.

Now, all the market depends on look, style and price. In the situation, Maruti has taken good decision to launch Ritz and to not phase out Omini and 800.

Electric Car to Prevent Pollution

Recently, British government announced to launch electric car to prevent pollution. It was basically to promote ultra low-carbon in next five years.

As per the news, “The electric car has had a long history stretching back to the 19th Century. But it is only in recent years that the idea has been taken seriously. Large and expensive batteries, as well as low speeds and short mileage ranges, make the electric vehicle unattractive to both consumers and manufacturers.

In Britain, electric vehicles have long been used to deliver milk. Operated by local dairies, the milk float has become synonymous with the British way of life. But due to the short distances they cover and a top speed of only 24 km/h, there is a widespread belief that electric vehicles are not practical.

That opinion changed when the American car manufacturer, General Motors, introduced the EV1 in the 1990s. Capable of motorway speeds and with a range of 216 km before a recharge, the car became highly popular amongst the lucky few who were able to lease the vehicle.

But after only eight years on the road, General Motors demanded the vehicles back. The decision led to accusations that the company was trying to remove threats to the oil industry and spawned a documentary film "Who killed the electric car?"

With a growing green movement and a better understanding of global warming, there has been a shift in attitude toward the electric car.

In a show of technological achievement, Swiss solar energy pioneer, Louis Palmer, completed a world tour in his solar-taxi in 2007. Covering more than 52,000 km in his solar-powered electric vehicle, Palmer said he wanted to prove the existence of solutions in lowering carbon dioxide emissions.”

It is the great step by British government however in all over world this type of action going on much strongly to save environment.

Make sure to car insure for better drive

In my previous post I had written about car loan to go on long drive but I here I want to write about car insure to better drive. You need to know abut car insure before taking it. So, I have decided to give a review from a blog. Below is full review:

"Car insurance is a very effective mean to be on the safe side. Even if one meets with an accident it is possible to recover from the monetary nature of the losses with an automobile insurance policy.

Car insurance is seen as an incredible mean to be in the safe side and to protect a car from any damage that may ensue from an accident. The insurance coverage provided to the car by insurance companies brings confidence in users who now can depend on them for safeguarding their car from any damage. Several car insurance providers have emerged and they offer excellent premium rates that make the payments easy.

The premium rates for automobile insurance are divergent and they are dependent on a number of factors. For example, the premium for men is higher than that for women. The reason is that men get involved in more ‘rash driving’ and so their possibility of meeting with an accident is always greater. The same is the case with teenagers as it is believed that their chances of meeting with an accident are far greater than that of older people. So, the premium charged in case of men and teenagers are substantially larger in its amount than the premium, which is charged for women. However, a reduction in the premium charges is possible if the individuals are willing to undergo a ‘defensive driving course’. In such cases, the risk of meeting with an accident is reduced to a great extent.

Car Insurance is also available in the form of ‘Collision Auto Insurance’. This insurance guarantees that the cost of repairs of the car that has met with an accident would be borne by the insurance company. In-case, if the vehicle is not in a position to be repaired then the insurance company should pay off (in cash) the value of the vehicle damaged. This assurance comes as a guaranteed support to an insurer and it is brought to effect immediately whenever there is a disaster.

Information about the automobile insurance and companies that offer such insurance is available on the Internet. Various websites cater the act of providing details about the various policies that are given as offers. An insurer can easily get to know about the details by opening the various pages of these websites. It is also possible to apply for an insurance scheme online. People just need to provide some personal details and fill in an online form. Having submitted the details, it becomes possible for insurers now to find a very appealing car insurance policy.

There are various insurance companies that offer such policies. A person should approach only that insurance company, which offers good premium rates and is known for its services. Applications filed with an unknown insurance company may incur losses. So, it is advisable to opt for only those companies, which are known for offering good services. The policy plans should also be judged properly before insuring ones car with an insurance company. This precautionary step would definitely help the insurer to find an insurance company, which can be trusted. Hence, the world of automobile insurance is certainly one, which is effective towards solving the requirements, given that one is aware about car insurances."

i20 Launched by Hyundai Car Company

i20 Launched by Hyundai

After the success of i10 in India Hyundai motor company launched i20 car in the Indian market. The i20 is the great car after i10 but not like i30 according to the reviewer but the car is off course better than i10. It was the September, 2008 when the car was in launching process but it is now 2009 when the car announced to launch by Hyundai motor company.

About the i20 prices there are different thought because now in the market prices are not secured. According to the news papers its prices will be about 5.5 Lakhs INR which will be about $15000. But I think the price of the i20 will be cheap in near future.

MD & CEO, HS Lheem of Hyundai Motor India said, “The diesel option is for exports 1.4 and 1.6 litre, for India we will have to wait and see. This year has been very good for Hyundai. We have grown by 20 per cent and market share has gone up by 3 per cent.”

So, it is clear that Hyundai motor profit is higher than others. It has beaten Maruti Suzuki in the car market especially in India. According to the company about 2 cars will be launched every year in the Indian market.
